Under the Black Moon

Night crawls in to her safe place,
tear drop falls, the Shadow comes.
Emotion run wild in the small space,
lock the light up in her box keep it from the sun.
He knows not of the spirit still within,
Shadow knows not, she shall not let him win.

Join her in this dark hour this dark room,
soon to be doom under the black moon.
The sunlight creeps into the heart,
melting the ice, allowing her to fall apart.
Such weakness could be the death of the
Shadow she loved- see the path
knowing what she may become, what she may be.

Oblivious are the silent hallows.
Silent are the echoing halls.
Quiet are the creaking floors
open are the unfriendly doors.
Forgiving is the unworthy heart,
Knowing is the black moon.

The black moon sees all.
Unworthy creatures all around.
Know the light know the day.
Back into her box under the black moon.
Hide from the past, present, future.

She commands without betraying lips
“Whispers quiet! Shadow stay!
Silence is what I needs today.”
Knees to chest heart to box
knowing what she has lost.
Pain is a weakness.
It is stopping her.
From achieving her dreams-
her inner desires, her purpose.
Hopefully not lost or forgotten.

To ----

The need. It crawls inside you.
Under your skin-it crawls inside you.
There is no hope, peace, sleep
When the need crawls inside you.

You give in to your masters call
You lie, steal, cheat to get your way
That need is crawling
That need is calling

A single pin-prick and you’re escaped
The need, no longer crawling but still
Crawling inside you
The need, no longer calling but still
Calling out to you

Pull back and watch your blood mix
With that syrup-like liquid
Hesitate for a brief moment
Three two one release push in

You want to give up you’ve lost your way
You’ve lost your friends, family, your home
Your car, your money, your phone
It’s funny how not even technology
Wants to stay with you

And why do you do this to us?
Do you hate us? Is this revenge?
I’m so scared for you ---
I don’t want your life to end
Because of that goddamn need
That need that calls to you
That need that crawls inside you

And I’m not going to stay, doll face
I’ve given all I can give to you
But I can’t sit back and watch you die
I will not sit back and watch you die
From that goddamn need
That calls out to you
That crawls inside you
That gets under your skin
That will eventually overcome you
My dear, you can’t win.
